The pretty town of Benalmadena is a great choice for a Spanish holiday, with traditional Andalucian town centre, fantastic beach & added benefit of Tivoli World for kids.

Benalmadena is definitely one of the best destination choices for a holiday to the Costa del Sol, Spain - for couples and families or as a centre for sightseeing and recreational breaks. The traditional Andalucian village centre of the town is set back in the foothills of the spectacular mountain range which surrounds Benalmadena while the more commercial holiday development of Benalmadena Costa sprawls along the length of the 9km beach.

Benalmadena as a Great Spanish Holiday Destination

One of the principal attractions of Benalmadena is the prettiness of the town, it has been developed sensitively and does not seem to suffer the excesses of some other holiday destinations. A lengthy and popular promenade meanders alongside the sandy beach and offers a variety of cafes, bars, restaurants and attractive beach shops and boutiques.

The promenade stretches from the hotels and casino of the Torrequebrada area to the exclusive harbour, with its expensive motor launches moored alongside a range of restaurants, clubs and shopping facilities. There is also a small Sea World centre and the new Selwo Marina sea life park in the area. A number of beach activities are available such as football and beach volleyball, together with boat hire or motor launch trips.

Visit Tivoli World for a Fantastic Evening of Family Entertainment

The Tivoli World theme park is a fantastic evening out for families with children. The park opens at 6pm and the nominal entry charge includes a wristband allowing access to all rides and shows. Entrance to the park is also available though for just a few Euros, without the need to purchase wristbands for rides. Tivoli World may not be able to rival the more well known parks for fairground rides but the enchanting lights' display and grottoes more than make up for this.

There are a number of exciting roller coaster and swing type rides, together with smaller rides and roundabouts for younger children. Tivoli World also offers several entertaining shows and dance acts which children will enjoy. For children, perhaps the best aspect to Tivoli World is the chance to stay up until the early hours and experience a full evening's entertainment as the park does not close until 2am.

Costa del Sol - a Great Choice for the Best Travel Deals All Year Round

The popularity of the Costa del Sol as a holiday destination has meant that a number of hotels and also a variety of self catering accommodation can be booked direct either on the internet or through holiday agencies.

Travel agencies will have countless special offers and discounted holiday deals to the Costa del Sol out of season and travellers needing flights only will find it's often possible to book flights from the UK to Malaga for bargain out of season prices from around £30 (including taxes and insurance). Certainly booking last minute flights for low season holidays can be the best option as airlines frequently offer great flight deals, even at Christmas and New Year.

No Need for Hire Cars or Taxis as the Coastal Railway Runs from Malaga to Fuengirola

One great benefit to holidaying on the Costa del Sol is the coastal railway line running from Malaga to Fuengirola. There's a railway station just outside Malaga Airport so it's easily possible to reach popular destinations such as Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Fuengirola without hiring a car or paying for taxis and at a price of just a couple of Euros it's a great deal!

Finally, the sunny Costa del Sol climate often offers daytime temperatures up to 22C through the winter and spring and holidaymakers can even enjoy relaxing Christmas or Easter beach holidays. Summer temperatures, particularly in August, can be high and reach up to 40C. Furthermore August is traditionally the Spanish holiday season, so the Costa del Sol can be extremely crowded. For these reasons July is probably the better month for a more enjoyable Spanish holiday.
